Does it remove aluminum?

My son was tested above range with aluminum and the only water I use for cooking and bathing is filtered through Aquasana.
He only drinks spring water.

The Aquasana doesn’t remove aluminum, but aluminium may not be in your water supply. It may be a good idea to get your water tested to see which contaminants are in your water when choosing your water filtration system.

Most carbon filters contain aluminum. (Go to Dr. Mercola.com under i.e. shower/water filters). Do Auquasana filters contain aluminum?

  3. Bryan Says:

Most people do not understand that there is an enormous difference in the quality of the carbon or charcoal that is used in filters. Many carbon filters are actually heavily contaminated with aluminum and are leaching aluminum into the water you filter.

Fortunately if you know a few facts you can easily choose a filter that is not contaminated.

Coconut shell is one of the best sources of carbon. It is the highest quality and the one with the least amount of aluminum.

The second key is to make sure that the carbon is acid washed as this will remove most of the aluminum in the carbon. Ideally your filter should be both acid washed and made from coconut shells but make sure it has at least one of these features to avoid the aluminum issue
