The cost of $1.80 per week is based on the idea that your replacement cartridges are $70 and will last for 9 months (39 weeks).
If you are on the Water 4 Life program, the cartridges cost $66 which makes this weekly amount slightly lower.
A 9 month cycle is acceptable for maximum performance in removing the chemicals and pesticide residues.
The anti-bacterial properties of the cartridges will begin to break down after 7-8 months, but will not reach dangerous levels until 12-14 months. Some customers prefer to change their replacement cartridges after 6 months, to keep the bacterialogical qualities of their filter at peak performance.
If you change the cartridges every 6 months, the cost is more like $2.60 per week or a little less if you’re on the Water 4 Life program.
