Do I need a UV filter with the Rhino Whole of House Filter?
If you are sourcing your water from a dam, tank, creek or bore, it may be necessary to install a UV filter to use in conjunction with your Rhino.
The UV filter will kill any faecal bacteria that could be present in naturally sourced water. There is nothing else available that has certification and documentation to match or even come close to the Rhino with the UV!
Which way around does the Rhino and UV filter work and why?
After heavy rain, the tannins in the water which cause discolouration can compromise the reading of a UV filter and the structure of the DNA in the bacteria (faecal and viruses) won’t be killed. This is why the water is pretreated with the Rhino before it passes through the UV filter, ensuring the complete removal of all harmful substances - without risk or compromise!
How can you be sure the UV is continuously doing the job we are entrusting it to do?
The Rhino limits the flow to 8 gallons per minute and the UV filter is designed to work at up to 12 GPM. This is to ensure that UV properties are never compromised by the flow rate of the Rhino being too high for the UV filter.
