Leaking Water Filter
If your water filter is leaking, there are 2 possible causes, first check where the leak is coming from…
1. The A or B cap (around the thread or from the middle hose outlet)
2. The two hoses at the opposite end of the housing, away from the caps (remove cover).
If your filter is leaking from the two hoses at the opposite end of the housing, please contact us for a replacement part. If you are enriolled in the Water 4 Life program, this part will cost you no more than $15, including f&h.
If your filter is leaking from the thread around the A or B cap, remove the “A” or “B” cap that is leaking and check the following…
1. Is the ‘O’-ring caught up in the thread and subsequently kinked?
If so, make sure the ‘O’-ring is seated in the recessed grove around the bottom of the thread. With your finger smear a thin coating of cooking oil around the surface of the cap that contacts the o-ring; this will make the caps easier to remove when it’s time to change your filters. Re-install the cap and tighten firmly. This should create the seal required to stop any leakage.
2. Is the thread on the housing damaged or is the thread on the cap faulty/damaged?
If the thread on the cap is damaged, please contact us for a replacement part.
If the thread on the housing is damaged, please contact us for a replacement part.
*If you are enrolled in the Water 4 Life program, caps will be sent to you at no charge and a housing will cost no more than $15, including f&h, even if you have had your water filter for 10 years or more!
